Wear Pink Feb. 28th to symbolize that you do not tolerate Cyberbullying!
In today’s digital world, it can be impossible to escape online bullying, whether it takes the shape of harassment, spreading rumors, sharing embarrassing information or threats. This year, Pink Shirt Day is encouraging others to combat cyberbullying by thinking twice before posting something negative, and instead using the internet to spread kindness - because we know that Nice Needs No Filter!

If your student arrives after the National Anthem they must go through the office to get a tardy slip. Supervision begins at 7:50 a.m. so please make sure your student is not tardy.

Garden Grove Families,

As many of you may be aware we have been working with the police about traffic congestion before and after school in our parking lot. The entrance and exit is now clearly marked and yellow, blue, and red curbs are fleshly painted.  We now all have to work together to keep the parking lot a safe place for our students and to make sure it is being "run" as efficiently as possible.

Commander Arabian has asked me to pass on a few things to you regarding drop off and pick up:

  • The No Parking Zone on Tracy means no stopping or parking.
  • The RED ZONE cannot be used to park or stop at.
  • The YELLOW ZONE is for loading and unloading only.
  • The BLUE ZONE is for parents of disabled students to drop off their child.
  • The BUS PARKING ZONE IS CLEARLY MARKED and is for the school buses that drop off and pick up students.  There is no stopping, dropping off, or driving in the bus lane.
  • In the morning numbered parking spaces are reserved for employees, please only park in the Visitor spaces.
  • During pickup after school any empty parking space may be parked in.
  • It is recommended that you come 5-10 minutes after the dismissal bell to alleviate stopping and waiting which holds up the pickup line of traffic causing congestion on Tracy.

Cars that impede the flow of traffic on Tracy Ave or the entrance to Garden Grove are what causes the difficulty and officers may ticket you.

In case of any emergency we must have certain zones clear so that Emergency vehicles can get into the school quickly.

Thank you for your help, patience, and understanding with all of us as we work on ways to make traffic issues less frustrating and safer for everyone.

Thank you

Mrs. Feinstein

STUDENT ABSENCE REPORTING

Attending school every day has a positive impact on student learning and helps to put students on a track towards success. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring that children attend school and must authorize absences by notifying their child's school in advance or at the time of the absence. Valid absences include illness or a family emergency.

REPORTING PROCEDURES

If a child will be absent, the parent/guardian must call and report the absence and provide the name of the child, his or her grade and reason for the absence. To report a student absence, please call the main number of the school and follow the automated reporting instructions. If a student is absent for more than a week, the student and/or parent or guardian is encouraged to make arrangements with the classroom teacher to arrange for completion of missed classroom work and assignments.

Garden Grove Families,

We had a great start to the new school year.  On Monday August 21st, after the fire drill, we are having a morning assembly about school rules and procedures.

All students will have indoor morning recess and snack due to the solar eclipse.  Please remember to reinforce that no one is to look directly at the sun!  Have a nice weekend.
