Reading Suggestions

Opportunities to read are all around us.  Read with your child often as part of your daily or nightly routine.  Environmental print such as the names of stores, cereal boxes, recipes (such as a brownie box), even junk mail can be a fun way to read a few extra words each day.  Have fun with it, and improve your child's ability to understand the world around him/her.  Remember, reading by pictures is reading too!  Ask your child's teacher for books suggestions.

SDC Grades K-1

Students in Mrs. H's class  are working on positive social interactions.   This month we will be exploring Distance Learning through the sites with links we emailed to parents.

Look for new plants budding outside or in the garden and use these  to make art and learn about mixing colors to make new colors.

SDC Grades 2-3   Ms. Hardisty

While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to provide leadership opportunities, character education, and exposure to technology as well . We look forward each week to our visits with our upper grade  BIG BUDDIES who help us in all areas including science and art!
